Re-opening when lockdown lifts

Welcome to the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage

We hope you are safe and well.

We’re excited to re-open later this spring.

We’ve changed how we do things to keep everyone safer.

The Cottage will be empty for 72 hours before you arrive, and of course we give it a full Covid clean too. This means you can check in on a Monday and check out on a Friday. You can stay for one week (ie four nights), two weeks (ie 11 nights), or three weeks (ie 18 nights)

We’ve updated our terms and conditions to include our Covid-19 policies.

Hopefully we won’t have any more lockdowns, but if Covid-19 does force you to cancel you can change your dates or have a full refund.  Unfortunately we cannot give a full refund if you need to change your booking for any other reason, but our new terms give you more flexibility including options for changing your dates or a partial refund.

Our guests love our books, DVDs and games, so we have divided them up between two crates. You’ll have one of the crates during your stay, along with a set of keys and a TV remote. This way you know no-one’s used them for at least 10 days – maybe more.

We do ask you to help keep our cleaners safe, so we’ve extended our check-out to 12:00 to give you time to strip the sheets off your beds, wipe down the high-touch surfaces (light switches and door handles), put any dirty dishes in the dishwasher, clean the surfaces in the kitchen, sort your recycling and put your rubbish in the wheelie bins on the way out.

We’ve brought our policies in line with industry norms and we have introduced a Recycling and Laundry deposit of £125 which we will refund after the cleaners have finished. We won’t take any money without discussing it with you first, but this is to cover any exceptional cleaning costs or significant damage.

BOOK NOW or check availability and pricing.

Prices range from £570 for four days off-season to £790 for four days high season. This includes up to six people in three bedrooms, a highland goodie basket (let us know about any intolerances), and up to two adult dogs (no extra charge but let us know so we can put out a plug-in and some doggy treats).

Thank you for your patience over the last 12 months. The lighthouse compound has been home to several NHS workers during these Covid-times, maintaining a tradition of keeping local people safe from danger that goes back to when the lighthouse was built in 1849.

Stay safe.
